The Board of Directors
The global Board of Directors serves to define and protect SAN’s mission. They also help guide the adoption of new policy and ensure that all corporate activities are aligned with SAN’s strategic organization objectives. As part of the Board’s role, they review and approve items such as annual budget proposals, new country organization opportunities, and building projects.
Global Executive Team
The Global Executive Team oversees the development and effectiveness of the worldwide Sports Aid Network. They are responsible for strategy development, planning, resource allocation, coordination and change management.
Ssekamwa Isaac Mugabi
President and Chief Executive Officer
President and Chief Executive Officer of SAN, Ssekamwa Isaac has a deep love and passion for social work and sports. Born and raised in Lugazi, Isaac’s education background includes graduating with a degree in Law from Mukono University, a Diploma from the Law Development center, and another degree in social work social administration from Mukono University.
Prior to joining SAN in June of 2013, Isaac was the executive director of Family Support initiative. He also founded and runs Karama children’s home. He is an accomplished sports lover and leader. He is the patron of VX Uganda the national governing body of vx, an executive advisor of the Uganda lacrosse association, and the Chairman of the Federation of Uganda dodge ball association. Isaac is married to Maureen and they have one daughter and a son.
Doctor Paul Hildreth
Senior Vice President & UK Representative
For Dr. Hildreth, the route to sports has been a long and winding road. He started his working life off as a teacher of Modern Foreign Languages. After going back to university for a conversion Masters in IT he stayed on to do a Ph.D. with a focus on Communities of Practice in Knowledge Management. From there he worked for a while as a Knowledge Management consultant until he established his own company which focused on technology transfer. As a result of his work in this field, he was one of the founders of the sport of Rock-it-Ball which later changed its name to VX. VX is a sport of honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, and respect. It is developing well in Africa and as a result of this VX work, he became involved with Sports Aid Network as the ethos and aims of VX tie in perfectly with SAN. Dr. Hildreth was so impressed with SAN’s work he agreed to become the UK representative

Cosmas Nabungolo
Senior Vice President of the Africa Region
Cosmas Nabungolo is passionate about talent discovery and nurturance in young adults as a pathway from crime and poverty. He has a strong calling to serve the cause of children living in poverty and possesses a deep faith in the power of sports for development and transformation. Cosmas also has an extensive breadth of expertise in the education sector from where he has had a career as a High school principal for over 20 years currently serving as Chief principal at the National multi Talent center of Sports Excellency school St peters Boys Mumias in Western Kenya.
He brings to the Sports aid network more than two decades of robust leadership and operational experience, including a proven track record of revenue growth.

Gloria Aspden
Australia/New Zealand Representative
Gloria Aspden’s desire to help children through sports was influenced by the example of her parents, who have been involved with community sports projects and education in Kenya. Currently working as a Psychotherapist- under AfriAus org with a Role of Drug/ alcohol and juvenile nonoffending through sport for indigenous and refugee background youth in Australia, Gloria was inspired by SAN’s unique holistic approach to meeting the physical, economic, educational, and spiritual needs of a child living in poverty through sports and subsequently joined the organization as our Australia and New Zealand representative. Gloria is passionate about youth leadership development in Africa, believing that a youth sports-based approach to Sports for development is fundamental to creating hope and opportunity. Gloria enjoys spending time with her family, reading world literature, and traveling.
Diana Simiyu
USA Representative
Diana Simiyu a resident of St. Louis , MO , USA has a passion for youth empowerment, social work, healthcare and sports. She has been involved in sports fund raising projects to nurture young talent in marginalized communities in Africa to America. She is as well an advocate for anti doping to promote health and fairness in sports worldwide.
Diana’s team is focused on generating resources beyond the scope of our current sponsorship offerings and establishing high-impact relationships to partner with Sports aid network for greater awareness, influence, and movement in a global context.
